CHSLD L.-B.- Desjardins is a palliative care home located in beautiful Saint-Sauveur, in the Laurentians of Montreal. We have been providing hospice service and care for the sick, terminally ill and those nearing end of life since 1964.
Additionally, our end-of-life care services are for people of all ages struggling with incurable diseases or situations that compromise their survival, in the more or less short term. These services are not limited only to people with cancer, but also to people with heart, respiratory, degenerative neurological diseases and dementia.
Theses services also help those close to the dying person, especially in terms ofpsychosocial support and respite, in all phases of illness and bereavement. Compassion, respect and dignity are part of our core values and the service offered to clients and their families.
The mission of the CHSLD L.-B.-Desjardins is to recreate a family and human environment for people at the end of their life, allowing them to pass away peacefully and in peace, surrounded by their loved ones.

Many find the idea of a loved one staying in a hospital for an extended stay ann unappealing option for a loved one. Many people would rather consider hospice services offered at our long-term care facility. We do our best to assure the care your loved one will receives is of the highest standard. It is important that all patients, especially the elderly, have the chance to spend the last years or months of their lives in the greatest comfort all while in a natural environment.
The palliative care services offered at CHSLD L.-B.- Desjardins allow your loved one to live in their own room and enjoy the presence of their family, while being surrounded by caregivers and highly qualified nurses who will help them obtain quality care all while staying as comfortable as possible.
Personal care services include meal preparation, bathing, eating, mobility, and companionship. We may also offer other personal care services that serve our clients’ unique needs.
Transportation : if your loved one needs a ride to a doctor’s appointment or a social event, we can provide the ride. Also, we can go shopping and put the groceries away, too. We can take your loved one pretty much wherever they would like to go, even if it’s for a ride around town to get out of the house.
